The Appreciation Night was combined with an event to recognise top scoring ACCA students who excelled in their respective examinations in the March 2016 to June 2017 sessions. ACCA prizes are only awarded to those students who achieve 85% or above on their first attempt. The ceremony saw the attendance of Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Fellow ACCA Council Member; Datuk Alexandra Chin, Immediate global past President; Datuk Mohammed Nasir Ahmad, ACCA Council Member; Raja Azura Raja Mahayudin, CEO of Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputra; Mr Brian McEnery, ACCA President; Ms Leong Soo Yee, ACCA Director for Asia Pacific members of the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee, education partners, achievers, lecturers, families and associates of ACCA. Highlighting the prize-winners’ success, ACCA Malaysia Interim Country Head, Edward Ling, said, ‘The prize-winners all achieved outstanding results by getting the highest marks in their exams. There were strong results recorded among our Malaysian students in the session especially for the Financial Reporting (F7), Audit and Assurance (F8), Governance, Risk and Ethics (P1) and Advanced Financial Management (P4) exams. ‘The outstanding achievements of our ACCA Malaysia students and affiliates in this latest exam session showcase the dedication, commitment and skills present here,’ continues Edward. ‘A huge congratulation goes to all our prize-winners.’ All prize-winners will receive a certificate and a cash prize. Comment from our top scorer in Malaysia when asked about how she managed to achieve success in the ACCA exams: Affiliate Bronze Prize-winner Jye Yong Lee, Malaysia 'I will normally cover the whole syllabus and try avoiding question-spotting as it is really hard to tell which part of the syllabus will come out.' 'One of the most difficult, yet important, aspect as an ACCA student is effective time management as it is normal for us to be occupied by gadgets, social media, friends, outings and etc and they all take up our time. But, the way you manage your time dealing with all these distractions are important. Therefore, I normally set a time limit for every activity that I do and follow the time limit that I have pre-set.'
