TIM AND CISCO JOIN FORCES TO INCREASE THE IT SECURITY OF ITALIAN COMPANIES

TIM Safe Web, the new security service developed in collaboration with Cisco and integrated into the TIM network, going live in March

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb 26 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mobile World Congress — Starting from March, TIM, the leading provider of mobile and fixed telecommunication services in Italy, in partnership with Cisco will offer “TIM Safe WEB”, a highly secure platform service, integrated in the TIM network, able to safeguard small business users from malware, such as ramsomware, phishing, and other malicious cybersecurity activities.

TIM Safe Web combines TIM's unique technologies and information with the capabilities of the Cisco Umbrella cloud-based security platform, which leverages a constantly updated global database of threat intelligence. This “over-the-network” service enhancement will be provided to about 600.000 TIM Business customers in order to improve both security and quality of service starting from small business market that is very exposed to cyberattacks.

Functionalities like antiphishing and malware containment will so be “embedded” in TIM network, without need of placing more HW in customers’ premises nor having new SW in their devices. Moreover, the protection will be active on every system connected to the customers’ LAN for the application of the security policies at DNS (Domain Name Server) level, thus allowing to block the requests to dangerous IP addresses before the Internet connection is up. While most respondents use chat apps for one-to-one messaging for daily work tasks, about 60 percent also use it for group messaging, including one-to-one voice and video communications, and nearly 75 percent of respondents share confidential and non-confidential documents.

Pets Now Can Fly Stress-free With Digi-pet Service

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- Digi-Pet service, a new solution to take the stress out of air travel for pets and their owners, is now made available by information technology company, Unisys Corporation.

It provides pet owners the ability to monitor and talk to their pets via their personal devices such as smartphones.

The service uses Internet-of-Things (IoT) technology via smart sensors attached to the pet's kennel or carry case to monitor and transmit key metrics such as temperature, oxygen levels, vibration and light.

It will automatically alert the pet owner and airline staff if any of the factors requires action.
Unisys senior industry director of Freight Solutions, Venkatesh Pazhyanur, in a statement, said the IoT technology enabled airlines to offer niche pet travel services, hence allowing them to enter and capture a high yield growing market while improving customer experience and loyalty.

Digi-Pet is part of the Digistics by Unisys suite of innovative digital logistics solutions for air cargo carriers where 20 global carriers that subscribe to Unisys Digistics transport more than 180,000 animals annually.

Digi-Pet assists airlines to comply with the International Air Transport Association and Live Animals Regulations, the worldwide standard for transporting live animals to ensure all animals are transported safely.

The service can also be used by shippers and carriers that transport other animal cargo such as horses, day-old chicks or hatching eggs, which require consistent heat, oxygen and light.

(“GST” or the “Company”), a leading developer and manufacturer of automotive leather, announced today that it has obtained the approval of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware for the sale of substantially all of the assets of the Company and its foreign subsidiaries to GST Lender Acquisition Corp., an entity formed by the Company’s Senior Secured Lenders and majority controlled by Black Diamond Capital Management, L.L.C.

The Court’s approval followed an auction completed on January 13, 2018 where GST Lender Acquisition Corp. was the successful bidder with a winning bid of $166.9 million.  The Company anticipates that the sale will be completed in the next 60 days, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
