HEALTHY GENERATION WITHOUT DRUGS - ANTI DRUGS WEEK BY MINISTRY OF HEALTH AT SOLACE SABAH

KOTA KINABALU, April 10 (Bernama) --The Sabah State Health Department (JKNS) in partnership with Sabah Education Department (JPNS) held a State Anti-Drugs Week based on the theme of “Healthy Generation without Drugs”. ‘Anti-Drugs Week’ is one of the annual activities of the State Health Department, which aims to deliver a variety of information on drug abuse and their effects on the public, especially to education and government employees.
 
The JKNS objective is to increase knowledge and awareness, enable self-assertion and the ability to say, “no”, to drug use and creating a work environment that is safe and healthy. Together, they visited Solace Sabah to gain more insight into the various addiction treatment approaches provided here at the private addiction treatment centre. Datuk Dr. Christina Rundi, the Director of the Sabah State Health Department, was the chief guest of the event.
 
Her visit was accompanied by 59 other delegates including the Deputy Director of Health (Medical Division), Dr. William Gotulis, the Deputy Director of Health (Dental Division), Dr. Misliah Ahmad as well as the Deputy Director of Health (Division of Food Safety & Quality) Pn. Norlida Hj. Mohd Darus. Also in attendance was Albert Tian, Assistant Director of the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK).
 
Dr. Prem Kumar Shanmugam, the CEO of Solace Sabah welcomed all attendees and presented insights into the types of addictions that people have and the most effective types of treatment Solace Sabah provides for people seeking recovery. He held a Q&A session on Addiction Treatment, which has been successfully implemented at the private facility in Kota Kinabalu since 2014.
