HITACHI ZOSEN: ESTABLISHMENT AND START OF OPERATIONS FOR THAI LOCAL SUBSIDIARY

OSAKA, Japan, Aug 8 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hitachi Zosen Corporation (TOKYO:7004) recently established a local subsidiary in Thailand, HITZ (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (Bangkok, Thailand; President: Ken Okubo), which started operations on August 1st.

Background to establishment

A large number of infrastructure development projects are currently being planned for the Southeast Asian market. Hitachi Zosen is working on increasing projects for products such as the energy-from-waste plants, water treatment plants, shield tunneling machines, bridges, hydraulic gates, and so on.

Hitachi Zosen opened its Bangkok office in 1994. However, to allow Hitachi Zosen to rapidly expand the business in this market and increase the brand recognition to establish Hitachi Zosen as a leading company in energy-from-waste plants, the Bangkok office was reorganized into a local subsidiary, which started operations on August 1st. This will make it possible to carry out flexible, agile business activities that are even more closely connected with the local area.

Future expansion

Hitachi Zosen has already constructed a flood control gate at Ayutthaya, the Rama IX Bridge, and a chemical plant in Rayong Province, to name just a few. In addition to these projects, Hitachi Zosen has received orders and supplied multiple energy-from-waste plants, water treatment plants, shield tunneling machines, and other infrastructure projects, and is working on strengthening the after-sales service business.
