'I Dare You Challenge 2017' Targets Higher Education Students

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Higher Education, in collaboration with the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), today launched 'I Dare You Challenge 2017' programme to generate awareness on the importance of financial planning and protection among the younger generation.

Its deputy minister Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching said the ministry welcomed the initiative from corporate sectors to cultivate the importance of having better financial planning to prepare themselves for employment.

"This programme meets the assessment of the ministry whereby the younger generation does not rely solely on academic knowledge but also smart on financial management which aligns with the government's aspiration to create a financially literate community by 2020," she said after launching the event here today.

Students who participate in the event will be asked to provide a synopsis on 'What would you do to feel financially secure' and the selected participants will upload a short video highlighting their own marketing plan within the duration of the competition.

The winners will receive RM15,000 cash for grand prize winner, RM7,500 for the first runner up and RM4,000 for the second runner up.

The registration opens today for all undergraduates and graduate students in Malaysia and they can log on to http://www.idareyouchallenge.com for any further information.
