Telenor , Cisco Team Up To Enhance End Customer Experiences

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- Telenor Group has signed a joint purpose agreement (JPA) with Cisco Systems Inc. to collaborate on enhancing end customer experiences with data analysis, IoT, and Smart City and security solutions.

The collaboration aims to accelerate Telenor's continued transformation and digitisation drive, and to support the joint pivotal role that both companies play in enabling superior experiences for Telenor customers.

Under the terms of the JPA, Cisco will work closely with Telenor on its roadmap to accelerate digital transformation, drive new revenue streams, increase operational excellence and enable the most secure customer experiences.

"We are excited about taking our collaboration with Cisco to the next level, setting up a joint lab environment to explore Smart City solutions with one of Norway's largest municipalities, exploring different approaches to connect our customers to what matters most in all stages of their daily lives," said Telenor chief technology officer, Ruza Sabanovic, in a statement.

The company's leadership with Smart City in Norway will leverage its existing city WiFi, WAN and mobile connectivity to explore a next-generation model that protects, connects and empowers societies.

Telenor will utilise Cisco's data platform, Cisco Kinetic, to extract, compute and move data from connected things to various applications to explore potential business benefits.

Meanwhile, Cisco's senior vice-president, Global Service Provider, Peter Karlstromer said by applying data analysis across selected app platform with Cisco's AppDynamics, Telenor would have an opportunity to explore real-time view of apps' performance to deliver better customer experiences.
